Landau was elected at the General Assembly Meeting of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the recent General Assembly Meeting of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, David Landau, Distinguished Research Professor and Director of the Center for Simulational Physics, was elected as the new Chair of the IUPAP C20 Commisssion on Computational Physics. IUPAP was established in Brussels in 1922 and currently is headquartered in Singapore. A total of 60 member countries belong to IUPAP, to cover interdisciplinary activities IUPAP maintains a close liason with several of the other scientific Unions.
